Look at me.....I'm blogging!

So far, this blog has been all Andrea, and she's doing a great job!  But since it's Lisa's and Andrea's blog, I guess it's about time I jump on here and make a contribution.

Anyway, a co-worker asked me to make her wedding invitations.  The pictures aren't the best (I'm learning how to do all this technical stuff), but you can get the idea.  I'll get better with practice.  I told her to look at samples of wedding invites on Splitcoaststampers.com and give some idea of what she likes.  She chose three very different cards and liked particular elements from each of them.

What do you think?   I used pretty in pink CS. the Priceless set, three embossing folders, and two punches.  I don't know if you can see, but I used the Sakura stardust pen on all the little dots on swirls.  Whose idea was that???

Now that I know how to do this, I'll be talking to you soon.  Well, not too soon.  I'm off on a cruise to Bermuda on Saturday.  Yay, me!!!

Have a great week!

Shoebox cards

I am in the process of going through the cards, I have to be honest.... my camera did a bad job so here is what I am asking of you.... if you do not see your card posted here on LA Stampers within the next couple of days.  I would appreciate if you could send me a picture of it and I will post it.  Thanks to all.

Thanks to all !!!!!

We, Lisa and Andrea, want to thank everyone who participated in the swap.  We had a great time. There are some other thank you's as well:

Lynn stayed and help sweep the floor.
Linda gave the girl scouts 4 binders of ATC cards.
Everyone for great cards and company.
Pam & Donna for the Easter basket, which I had to include the picture.

Again, thanks to everyone...... we had a blast..... Remember Ocean City.....

LA Stampers Mascot - New Name

Lisa and I ask for help from our fellow stampers...we needed a name for our new found mascot.....So this is what we came up with thanks to Lynn (stolynn). --Philomenia flamingo.

Just a side note about the flamingo.  It will be with us where ever we go... whenever you see it... the first one to say to Lisa or I, you got Philomenia flamingo down the ocean hon.... will get a prize.

April 16 Shoebox

Girl Scout Troop #1685 joined our Shoebox swap to work on their Silver Project.  Their project is to make 1000 cards for Upper Chesapeake Health System.

Ciera & Rachel
Erin, Courtney, Rachel & Ciera

I had to take a picture of Ciera & Rachel as they stole the ears that Lisa and I were gonna wear during the swap....ok we had them on for a second.  Courtney, fellow stamper, rolls in with a horned sweatshirt, it was a photo opportunity.

Mascot for LA Stampers.....

Lisa and I found this in the Candy Kitchen at Ocean City and thought it would be fun to bring it along for the shoebox swap in November.... but now that I think about it.... we will have this all the time... its just too stinking cute.  When you see the flamingo with us.... just say, you got that down the ocean hon.....I know, it could be a better picture.  But it looks much better in person.

Stamping Stuff... had to have it

Stamping by the Sea --- Ocean City, MD April 2011.

I had to share this find with you. Lisa and I saw these stamps for backgrounds and yes.... we had to have them. I have not had time to play with mine, as you can see, they are still in the package.  But I can not wait to use them and share the final project with you.
Now this stamp reminded me of Charlie Brown's Christmas tree... again, had to have it. So I decided that this will be my swap for the November shoebox being held in Ocean City.  I can't believe it myself.... Andrea has her card picked out already....
The stamps are by IC Impression obsession.  They had some reallly cute stamps, I just wanted them all.
I suggest you mark your calendars for next year's stamping/scrapbooking event.

Ocean City Fun

Ricky is sporting his new t-shirt----
Charlie Sheen at his best.

The truck was so over packed it made traveling
a little uncomfortable,
but the kids made it a blast.

I had to take a picture of the mounted police
on the boardwalk.
