I'm back in less than a month.....not too shabby!
I have a project to share with you, a card I made for my in-laws anniversary, and a flyer for some classes Andrea and I are going to be hosting.
First up is the frame I made for my sister. She had a snowman picture in a frame that I made for her for Christmas on her desk and wanted something new for Spring. Here is what I made her.
It's a 5" x 5" frame I got from Hobby Lobby. The sky is SU! bashful blue, the grass is old olive, the leaves are wild wasabi and old olive, and the flowers are daffodil delight and tangerine tango. The clouds and fence are Memory Box dies cut out of PTI white card stock. I cut three layers of both clouds and the fence so there was some dimension to them. The clouds were sponged in bashful blue, too. I added a couple tiny butterflies in some unknown DSP, too. The flower centers and butterfly bodies are SU! mini pearls.
This card I made for my in-laws 57th!! wedding anniversary.
I used SU! island indigo, tangerine tango, and sycamore street (I think) DSP. The sentiment and branches are from a PTI anniversary set. The sentiment is a little off center, but only I knew that. Well, and now you do, too. They were just happy to receive a handmade card.
Now for the announcement. Andrea and I are going to be holding classes at Vibrant Health and Wellness Acupuncture in Abingdon. We go there for acupuncture (obviously), and Dawn, the owner, wants to create a business that offers healing and a sense of community and fun.
We thought this would be a great way to introduce Dawn's patients to the relaxing and fun nature of card making and maybe someone who doesn't know what to expect at a community acupuncture practice a chance to see the office and meet Dawn, who is a wonderful! person.
She really knows her stuff, too. Andrea and I both went for pain management, and it truly works. Just from checking your pulses and looking at your tongue, she can tell you things about yourself that you can only stare at her and wonder how she knew that. It's weird and freaky and awesome all at the same time.
Here is the flyer with dates for June and other information:
If there is enough interest, new dates will be announced monthly.
So, that's it for now. I'll be back soon with new cards/projects.
Leave a comment if you see anything you like or if you have any questions. We'd love to hear from you!
Take care -
