Christmas Thank You

Your eyes are not deceiving you.....it's me again!

I made thank you notes for the great gifts we got from my husband's family, and I have to say, they are among my most favorite cards I've made, and one of the most CAS.  I can get a little layer-y at times.  What do you think?

I used Papertrey Ink's Holiday Button Bits and Signature Christmas.  The little row of holly on the bottom inside and on the envelope is a $1 stamp set from Michael's.  The buttons are a Sizzlit die, and I used DMC cross-stitching floss for the thread.  The paper is SU's Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, and PTI's white (which is awesome!).  The ribbon is SU's Cherry Cobbler seam binding...another favorite.  The ink is also SU.

While we were in NY over Christmas weekend, we went to see Sherlock Holmes with Bob's parents.  The movie was good, but it was the seats that were out of this world!!  The shopping center the theatre is in was flooded this summer, so they totally remodeled.  We were so impressed with the seats....they are soft, red leather with lots of room and best of all, they recline!  Here is a picture of his parents (not a good one) sitting in the seats, but if you look beyond them to the woman in the background, you can get a better idea of the chairs.  All I needed was a blanket, and it would've been perfect!

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and that your coming year is filled with many blessings.

Until next time -
Lisa

Merry Christmas...some chatter.....and a project

Honestly, I must be the worst blogger (or co-blogger) on the world wide web! It's been a very long time since I've been on here.  Here are some highlights of the past couple months.

We went to Lake Placid for Labor Day (I know, right??) and had a wonderful time. We went sunset kayaking on Mirror Lake with my SIL. We walked there from her house.  The picture is my husband and me in one kayak......something I do NOT recommend!

How beautiful is that??

Ocean City was so much fun!  I should've thanked everyone then for a great time and awesome projects....but I didn't.  Please accept my very late thanks to those of you who were there.  We couldn't have asked for a nicer group of ladies to try out an OC getaway on.  Andrea and I learned a lot and are looking forward to next year being bigger and better.

I was invited last Friday to a Christmas party with some co-workers, and the wife of a co-worker, who is an SU demonstrator, gave my friend Linda a licorce stick in one of the SU cellophane bags with a Santa face topper.  We thought....we can do that.....let's do it tonight!  So Linda, my sister and I got together last Friday around 4pm to make some of these:

My sister, Kelly, wanted to make 20 to give to her co-workers, Linda wanted 15, and I wanted 15.  That's a grand total of 50.  What the heck were we thinking???  Did you ever look at a project and think "how hard can it be??" and then SIX hours later want to scream?  Kelly left at 8:30pm for a hot date, and Linda hung in there until 10pm.  Linda's and Kelly's were finished, and we had the Santas put together for mine.  I finished them Sunday evening.  Whew.....that was a job but totally worth it when I gave them to friends and got their reactions.  Here are my 15:

So that about catches you up.  I hope you and yours have a very safe, happy and healthy holiday, and  I hope your coming year is filled with many blessings and lots of laughter and, of course, stamping.

Merry Christmas!!
Lisa

40 Days til Ocean City Shoebox !!!!!

Here is another sample of what we will be doing down the ocean hon !!!!  I had fun putting together these decorations... I am thinking holiday decorations.... These look much better in person.

The paper is Stampin Up Spice Cake.  I used the scallop punch for the trip and a mustard button from the new Stampin Up Holiday Mini Catalog.

The paper is Stampin Up Berry Bouquet.  Again I used the scallop punch and the red glitter paper and the new silver gliter paper from the new Stampin Up Holiday Mini Catalog.

This paper is from a brick of paper I had around the house but the glitter paper and punch is Stampin Up.

Paper Bows !!!!! We will do these at November Shoebox in OC

Ok... Diana showed me paper bows the other day and I swore I would not do them.... here they are, I am hooked.  What a great idea to use scrap paper that is just laying around the house.  Also..... we will be doing these bows in November...

Sept 11 Stamp Camp

Stamp camp was very relaxing .... I actually did 5 cards this time instead of my 4.  I made these cards last month and didn't have anything from the new Holiday Mini so I changed a few cards and added an extra.  Here are the cards for your viewing:

Stamp set: Summer Solstice
Ink: Night of Navy, Lucky Limeade, Tempting Turqoise
Paper: Night of Navy, tempting turquoise, lucky limeade, whisper white
The card is not that difficult... stamp the flower image on white with different colors.  Stamp a flower on a piece of scrap paper and cut out then pop up on white strip.

Stamp set: Kidoodles, Happiest Birthday Wishes
Ink: Black stazon.  Markers: wild wasabi, calypso coral
Paper: Pool party, whisper white, wild wasabi, designer series
I thought the kidoodles set was really cute.  This card has a flap on the front as seen above this part of the card which is the inside.  I like this design for holiday cards.  It makes it look like a surprise.

Stamp set: Gently Falling
Ink: Soft suede
Paper: Pool party, more mustard, designer paper
I stamped soft suede on the more mustard using random stamping. Layered the small strip of pool party with designer paper and added one of the new (in Holiday Mini) Huge buttons with hemp in the holes.

Stamp set: Haunted Forest
Ink: Tangerine tango, memento black
Markers: Old olive, tangerine tango, crumb cake, early espresso
Paper: Tangerine tango, black, whisper white
I took tangerine tango stamp pad and ran it across the tangerine paper to give it a wood look. Stamp the image, put a little ink on the stamp image and then took a sponge with black ink and smudged it across the white.

Stamp set: Dark and Dreary
Ink: Black, pumpkin pie, perfect plum
Paper: Tangerine tango, black, whisper white
Smuge pumpkin pie on most of the card, next smuge perfect plum and then trim the end with black.  Stamp the image on white and stamp the owl on white, punch it out with the oval punch.

CONGRATS GIRL SCOUTS !!!!!

The Girl Scouts "finally" finished their Silver Award Project.  I thought I would share since most of you help with donations and supplies.  Their Silver Award Project was to make 1000 Cards (get well and thinking of you)  for Upper Chesapeake Health System.  The girls met with the President and Director of Guest Services where pictures were taken.  The hospital reps were very pleased with cards and all the hard work the girls did in making the cards.
