February Stamp Camp 2012

So stamp camp was quiet but so relaxing.  With Sale-a-bration around you would think I would be so stinking busy.  Some of the cards were cased from SCS.  Thanks SCS for all of your ideas.  Here are the cards that we did at Stamp Camp:

Cards and stuff

Hi!  I want to share something my niece, Kate, made for my office door.  I got a good laugh out of it.  She's eight, so I think that makes it even funnier.

Now for a couple cards.  My husband had to send thank you cards to his family for his birthday gifts.  This is the card I made for him.  If I do say so, it turned out really well. 

I pretty much cased it from here.  I love vdutchr's cards; this isn't the first one I've cased or taken inspiration from.  I used PTI's white cardstock and Turning a New Leaf stamp for the leaf, and the sentiment was a "thank you" from Verve that came with an order I placed.  I used Staz-On black and Memento's cottage ivy and summer(?) sky.  The blue border is brocade blue punched with an SU punch.  I think that's everything that went into it.

My other card is a sympathy card for a co-worker. 

Inspiration for this one was taken from this card.  I like how she made the flower vine into a square.  I got tired of coloring the stamp so settled for two of them.  I used rich razzleberry and old olive, coloring the stamp with the matching SU marker.

BTW, Andrea's tangles are awesome, aren't they?? I took the same class and didn't come out that talented! I really enjoyed the class, but I think I'm too ADD to sit and doodle for the time it takes to complete one.  My mind goes a thousand miles an hour, and I forget to relax.  Plus there is a lot of freedom in zentangling, and I tend more toward structure, so it's hard to just go with the flow.  Maybe one day..........

Ink to Paper-----tangling

I have not picked up pen in hand for about 2 weeks.  I was plain busy and was not inspired.  I did spend some time with Diana and she caught on really fast with the tangling.  So I am sharing Diana's tangle and some others I have completed.

Diana's tangle....is this not wonderful.... I love how she used the circle to define the image.

This is a tangle that I had started but finally finished.  I really like this one.

Here is another that I finished finally.  I start adding patterns but get stuck.  This one seems to be all over the paper, no proper flowing.  I still like it.  It reminds me of a garden growing.

More Zentangles and stamps

Since I took the Basic Zentangle class at The Queen's Ink three weeks ago I have turned into a Zentangling fool.  There has been only two or three times that I have not done some kind of zentangle in the last three weeks.  I would just clutter up this blog if I put everything out here, so I am going to be selective.  I will show two that I really like, for now...

I am finding some of the patterns I really like and want to incorporate them in every design.  I realize, I must move on to other patterns.  There was no string design to start off on this tangle.  I just started drawing and used the different space on the paper.

This tangle, I really, really like.  I use a stamp from Fabulous Florets, it give a nice start and then I drew around the stamped design with patterns.  Have I told you that I am totally hooked on doing Zentangles. 

 If anyone is Zentangling, I would love to post your designs here.  I have chatted with some of you out there, send me your pictures.....

MORE Zentangles.....

I just can not put my pens down.  I am so hooked on zentangles.  I find it so relaxing and fun.  My daughter and I took an hour this evening and played with different designs.  Here are two of my creations:

I don't have the patterns this time as I was just flipping through web pages.  My thought is to keep a journal and record the different designs I use.

I tried the white ball pen on black. I don't like this as much as black pen to white papers.  You be the judge.

ZENTANGLES

New Year..... New Stuff !!!!

Lisa and I went to a Zentangles class today.... OMG new things to do on your cards and what nots.  We went in for a 3 hour class at Queens Ink in Savage Mill Mall.  We are so totally hooked.  It was so relaxing and the time just zoomed by.  So here are two samples that I did and learned eight patterns.  Zentangles is all about patterns. 

This was the first square.  I think it looks pretty good for a first timer.  The patterns are: static, florz, crescent moon, and hollibaugh.

This was square 2 and the patterns took a little more time.  The patterns are: emigle, printemps, keeko and cadent.
