Watercoloring and Mother's Day
Hi! I hope this finds you well. Here's what I've been up to.
She's a little blurry because I took the picture with my phone, but I watercolored this today - my first real attempt - and I have to say, I'm pretty happy with the way she turned out. The problem is I don't know what to do with her. I've tried several card fronts to put her on, and I'm not liking anything right now. I'm sure it will come to me.
I used watercolor paper from Michael's, stamped the image in Staz-On black, and used a combination of blender pen and aqua painter to color. I used tangerine tango, barely banana, perfect plum, wild wasabi, brocade blue and creamy caramel. The blender pen was mostly used to create shadow lines. I'll definitely try this again!
I have more cards to show you, but I'll save some for another day.
Have a great weekend!
BTW, welcome jillwag. I'm glad you are enjoying our fledgling blog!

Bermuda.....
.......is gorgeous!! We had such a nice time on the cruise, but the time actually in Bermuda was just awesome. Here are a couple pictures:
This is the ship at night while we were docked. It's bigger than it looks. Near the bottom of the ship are full grown palm trees.
This is the view we had from our balcony. We docked in the Royal British Dockyard. The building in the distance is an old fort the British used until the early 1900's to defend the island and to house prisoners. The double clock tower building is now a mall.
This is the requisite self portrait of me and my husband.
The shades of blue in the water are so beautiful.
Every day when we got back to our room after dinner, we had a different towel animal. This one cracked us up. It was hanging from a vent above the bed and wearing my sunglasses. We decided it looks like a turkey.
We went on a 3.5 hour kayak tour of the island, which was loads of fun, but we were afraid of the camera getting wet so no pics of that. We kayaked (is that a word??) a mile and a half out in the ocean to see a shipwreck......totally worth the sore arms the next day for the effort.
Oh, did I forget to mention the 55mph winds we encountered on the way home?? Thank goodness I had good motion sick pills. Laying in bed, the curtains literally stood out 90 degrees from the doors. It was crazy!!
So that's my trip. Now it back to the real world.......bummer!

May Stamp Camp
We had the best time today at Stamp camp. It was all about the chocolate and conversation....the ladies had a blast, can't wait til November for a weekend of fun.
I really like the "Open Sea" stamp set, there is so much you can do with it.
I can not wait to get my embossing powder so I can use it with the "Fabulous Florets" stamp set. Love the flowers......
